Power-Hungry Valiant To Take Over One Week Of Each Month In 2017 With "X-O Manowar Wednesdays"

Drunk with power over positive reviews from the comics press, Valiant Entertainment, or as they're calling themselves, "the best-reviewed publisher in comics," has declared that the fourth Wednesday of every month, beginning with the release of X-O Manowar #1 in March, will henceforth be known as "X-O Manowar Wednesdays." Along with new issues of X-O Manowar each month, Valiant will deliver "a brand-new launch title, jumping-on point, or key issue" on that day as will, which, technically, kind of encompasses just about any comic they put out that week.  As an example, March 22nd will see both X-O Manowar #1 and Bloodshot Reborn #0 storm comic shops and establish a beachhead from which Valiant will stage a full scale invasion of the entire calendar year.

As advance warning of this hostile monthly takeover of Wednesdays, and helpful tool for people living in the pre-internet age, Valiant plans to send official paper X-O Manowar calendars to comic shops, reminding fans of every issue of X-O Manowar to be released throughout the year, as well as reminders of things like Inintial Order Deadlines, Final Order Cutoff Dates, and sexy pinups of Valiant CEO Dinesh Shamdasani (we'd show you a preview, but they're very NSFW).

"We've told fans and retailers in no uncertain terms that the new X-O MANOWAR series may very well be the most vitally important series that we have ever published," said Valiant publisher and hyperbole aficionado Fred Pierce, reiterating everything that was printed in the previous two paragraphs of the press release they sent out, for some reason. "Now, we're putting our money where our mouth is – and continuing Valiant's record-setting streak of on-time shipping – by giving retailers a major new tool for promoting the series in their store with 'X–O MANOWAR WEDNESDAY' dates marked on this calendar. At the end of every month, on every fourth Wednesday in 2017, Valiant will be putting a major new release into stores for fans to rally around. And it all starts with X-O MANOWAR #1 on March 22nd. We're extremely confident in the strength of this series with the first 13 issues already in production. Our new 'X-O MANOWAR WEDNESDAYS' are just the latest display of the momentum we're putting behind this series, and just how far our plans for X-O MANOWAR stretch in 2017 and beyond."

Valiant is promoting X-O Manowar pretty heavily, it seems, for a book about a jellyfish. The comic will be available as a pre-order bundle for the first three issues, which will feature special variant covers and bonus content. They're also making a 1:500 Brushed Metal Variant Cover, several other variant covers, and a pre-order bonus for the first five hundred customers where Valiant editor Tom Brennan will personally berate them on Twitter about the topic of their choice. They're going all out, is what we're saying.

A prophecy once said that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero would come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events. Sadly, that prophecy was wrong. Oh, Jude Terror was right. For ten years. About everything. But nobody listened. And so, Jude Terror has moved on to a more important mission: turning Bleeding Cool into a pro wrestling dirt sheet!
