Thinkwell Giving England Its Own Harry Potter Attraction in 2012

Kate Atherton writes for Bleeding Cool:

Many people who live in Oxford, such as myself, will have a tale to tell of Harry Potter, whether it's seeing cast members around the place, watching scenes being filmed or visiting historic places that double up for Hogwarts. Some years ago, I saw a set of ornate flagged tents, complete with quidditch players. None on brooms, though. Soon, the general public will be able to see far more of the Harry Potter heritage, as film sets go on display at Leavesden Studios.

Leisure Opportunities has revealed that Thinkwell, a US exhibition design company, has been appointed to design a new Harry Potter attraction at the studios, near Watford in Hertfordshire. Warner Brothers produced all of the Harry Potter movies at the site before it bought the studios in November, 2010.

Although exact details of the attraction are to be revealed, Thinkwell said the site will give the general public the ability to tour several of the original Harry Potter film sets.

According to The Studio Tour, the studios contain permanent sets of Dumbledore's study, Privet Drive and Hagrid's Hut. In other words, there is some way to go before it rivals Universal Orlando's new Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

The Watford attraction is set to open in the middle of 2012.
