World's Worst Copy Of Walking Dead #1 Sells For $754
Well, yes, that is kinda incredible. A copy of The Walking Dead, slabbed in the worst condition possible, a 0.5 grading from CG, has sold on eBay for $754 after 47 bids.
In comparison, an unslabbed copy of Walking Dead #1 in VF+ condition sold for $550 in December. I'm not sure exactly how that works… another with a crease in the spine sold for $676… and this seems a lot worse than that.
Here's how it is described…
According to the CGC census, over 1800 copies of THE WALKING DEAD #1 (1st print) have been graded as of 2/10/2014 and this is the only one with the awesome grade of .5!! The next lowest grade is a 2.5…that's 5 higher grades than this!
All the BS aside…this is one special book! The owner had no clue that Walking Dead comics were worth anything and drove around in his car for months with this book laying in the back seat, the floor board,up in the back window, etc…he thought he threw it away until he went looking through the stuff in his car,are there it was!
So we have saved this baby from the dumps of Va.Beach,Va. and preserved it for all time thanks to CGC. It may be ugly, but it's a beautiful in it's own way. With your high bid,you can give this book the loving home it deserves!
