Sam Guthrie Has a Dad Bod in New Mutants #2 [Preview]

New Mutants #2 is in stores from Marvel Comics next week, by Jonathan Hickman and Rod Reis. Co-writer and Canada's Favorite Son Ed Brisson is only writing the parts of this story set on Earth, but the New Mutants are all in space for this issue, so Brisson gets the week off. Check out the preview below.

Last issue, the New Mutants were betrayed by the Starjammers (because Jonathan Hickman values plot over characterization) and left to be captured by Shi'ar forces and blamed for the Starjammers' attempt at thievery.

Sunspot provides the recap in actual comic form, which we really appreciate. It's a lost art. He also reveals that the reason he's dragged the New Mutants into space is because Cannonball has a dad bod.

He then lets us know what happened after the last issue ended. The New Mutants are imprisoned, but Magik quickly establishes herself as the biggest badass in space prison as the gang awaits trial.

And that's where the action picks back up.

And they're found guilty. And their lawyer stinks.
