Spirits Of Vengeance From Victor Gischler And David Baldeon Totally Not Stuck In The 90s, Dude
Marvel has revealed another of their Marvel Legacy creative teams, and this time it's for one of the few new series launching as part of the industry-changing not-a-relaunch: Spirits of Vengeance. Victor Gischler will write with artist David Baldeon, and Mark Texeira will provide covers.
The reboot of the 1990s series of the same name will be "mostly looking forward, not back" said Gischler in an EXCLUSIVE interview at Nerdist. The cast will include Daimon Hellstrom, Satana, Blade, and Ghost Rider (Johnny Blaze), though Gischler says he's "invented" a new character for the book as well.
Gischler says that he doesn't want the book to rely too heavily on nostalgia: "I think these are great characters that need to be showcased. If the book feeds an appetite for 90s nostalgia then great, but you're not going to be left out if you missed the 90s. If these characters are brand new to you, you're still in for a wild ride."
Like all Marvel Legacy titles, Spirits of Vengeance will continue to not rely too heavily on 90s nostalgia by coming with a lenticular variant cover.
