Is This Superman #22? Or Is This Hot Fuzz? (Spoilers For Both)

Hot Fuzz has to be one of my favourite films and it seems rapidly becoming one of Britain's, with a little help to ITV2 who seem to play it most weeks.

So when reading Superman #22, out today, could I be blamed for finding it rather familiar?

And I don't just mean hearing Cobb talk in a West Country accent rather than smalltown America… just certain scenes hit similar notes. For the Black Dawn…

…see the NWA…

For Hamilton…

… see Sandford.

For the members of the NWA, and the revelation that everyone in the town is in it…

…meet the officials of Hamilton. And you just thought it was the milkman…

For where it goes next…

…someone needs a firefight.

And a car chase…

…just in a Batmobile.

And a discovery that damns them all and reveals what's really going on with everyone who disappears…

Although these look a little more "on ice" that "iced". Still, neither Hamilton or Sandford can abide a clown.

I may well be seeing things… just like how much Cobb is like The Comedian."You've got a moustache…"

But it did seem to spark something.

hello

And also got me to watch Hot Fuzz again with the subtitles on!

Superman #22 by Pete Tomasi and Doug Mahnke is published today by DC Comics. Hot Fuzz can be seen on ITV2 most nights.
