This Batwoman Turkish Poster Could be Yours From Heritage Auctions

La Mujer Murcielago / The Batwoman, a Mexican sci-fi/adventure movie from 1968, is a B Movie joy. The Batwoman (portrayed by Maura Monti) is a beautiful and rich vigilante, who also is a master at every sport and wrestles. René Cardona took advantage of Batmania and combined it with the world of Lucha Libre to create a fun, unique, and campy movie that really should be more celebrated. In the film, Batwoman has been enlisted by local authorities to help find out who is killing popular lucha for their brain fluid. Why are lucha being murdered for their precious brain fluid? The evil Dr. Eric Willams is using the fluid to create a half-man, half-fish creature — his own personal Gilman, you could say.

Batwoman stuff isn't exactly easy to come by, so when I saw this poster on Heritage Auction's website, my heart skipped a beat. This is a poster for the Turkish release (or rerelease) of the film, making this one unique and exciting collectible. The poster is not dated, but her cowl area looks vaguely reminiscent of Michael Keaton's Batman. This poster also makes this movie look more crime noir with its stylized lines and colors. Her vehicle is even more reminiscent of the famous Batmobile, whereas, in the film, it's just an excellent car with big fins.

This poster is unrestored and measures in at 26.75" X 39". It presents exceptionally well and would look great framed and hanging on a wall. This poster is still an affordable piece for Batmania collectors, or those of you looking for an exciting piece for your home. It'll certainly get people talking — you just don't see these that often!
