The Casual Bigotry of Steve Rogers in Deadpool #2 [Preview]
Deadpool #2 is in stores from Marvel Comics next week, by Kelly Thompson and Chris Bachalo, and we've got a preview below.
The first issue set up a new status quo for Deadpool as the new king of the monsters, with his kingdom being Staten Island.
And if there's one thing Captain America can't stand, it's sovereign countries popping up on the coast of America. Just look at how he illegally invaded Utopia and demanded the X-Men hand over an innocent teenager to be imprisoned on the moon for future crimes she might commit while under the influence of a bird-themed cosmic death god during Avengers vs. X-Men (never forget!). And so of course he shows up to interfere in Deadpool's plans.
Deadpool reluctantly agrees to talk to Steve.
But it isn't long before Rogers reveals that he may not have left all that Secret Empire, secret Nazi stuff behind after all, because Captain America is clearly bigoted against monsters.
In a universe that is constantly being shattered by super-mega-crossover events leaving nothing ever the same again, there is always one constant: Captain America is a dick! Deadpool #2 hits stores on Wednesday.
