The Comic That Made Tooth & Claw Change Its Name… Was Also Published By Image
This is the cover to Tooth & Claw #1 by Kurt Busiek, Ben Dewey and Jordie Bellaire.
And this is the second print with its new name, The Autumnlands: Tooth & Claw.
Why? Kurt Busiek states "I'm still not sure how we managed to screw up the trademark search. But as it turns out, the title we thought was clear for use is in fact registered to someone else, which is embarrassing as all hell. Oops."
And the trademark clash in question? With Mark Pacella's Tooth And Claw.
Which was published by Image Comics. Even more embarrassing! BUT you can read those three issues from 1999, right here for free.
This is what Pacella, probably best known as a Marvel Comics penciller and inker, is up to today… of course, once upon a time, he drew this.
