The Secrets Of Secret Wars, Revealed Today (Spoilers)
Today sees the release of Secret Wars #3, and the realisation that while the issues so far have trotted along, issues 4 and 5 are going to be further delayed…
But we start to get some answers. Remember that "Eight Months Later" storyline for The Avengers that led up to Secret Wars? Well, that has expanded a little in Secret Wars #3, as we gain a greater understanding as to what the Battleworld actually is.
So it has existed for eight years. And before that? Armor Wars #1 gives us an inkling.
There is just a lack of memory – even if some worlds have existed longer than that, such as the one in Years Of Future Past #1.
And we start to get more of Doom's anti-mutant bigotry on panel. Both here and in X-Tinction Agenda #1…
He does have the Isaac Perlmutter look about him. Mutants get short shrift all over the place.
Master Of Kung Fu #2 seeing them as an underclass, though one that can be rallied and trained.
While Future Imperfect #1 sets up another world who have issues with mutants…
Indeed, this scene from Renew Your Vows #1 does resemble the marketing department at Marvel a little don't you think?
Anyway, they have a new product line to push.
Hulk hands. Though there are some dissenting marketing voices, from Secret Wars Battleworld #2…
And the rivalry between Marvel and Fox movies gets all meta in Giant-Size Little Marvel AVX #1 with this final scene reflecting X-Men: Future Class and Avengers: Age Of Ultron's use of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch…
In other news, that issue I mentioned last night regarding Ultimate End seemed to be opportune as Secret Wars #3 sees more characters from the actual 616 step onto the Battleworld…
And from the Ultimate Universe…
So exactly who are the folk in Ultimate End? And if you need a break from all this, then Secret Wars Battleworld #2 also creates a scenario oft imagined, never realised, basically we get Blade Vs. Count Duckula….
The entire crossover is worth it for that moment…
