Thursday Cosplay Pics From NYCC 2017

Photos by Bleeding Cool's Amanda Gurall:

As always, geek-centric conventions attract the best of cosplaying work from the wonderful nerds of the world. This year's New York Comic Con is no different, with an assortment of well-dressed geeks.

Firstly on the cosplay block, we have Daisy Ridley's Rey from Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens with her scavenger/battle staff. Next, we have the ever-memorable Log Lady and her trusty Log from Twin Peaks. After that, there is my personal favorite, Maneater Aldritch from FromSoftware's Dark Souls III after consuming Gwendolyn of the Dark Sun. Following that is the brilliant Moon Girl from Marvel Comics' Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. Both sides of Mr. Krabs' grocery list and ghost used to frighten Spongebob Squarepants into giving up his million-dollar hat comes up next. From there we have Sam & Max from their classic games of the same name. Then there's the unexpected pairing of Columbia from Rocky Horror Picture Show and Quicksilver from X-Men: Days of Future Past. DC Comics' Teen Titans Raven and Beast Boy follow that. Skull Kid from Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask come up next. Lastly, we have Sally from A Nightmare Before Christmas.

These people have some rocking costumes with some skill and dedication I quite admire. The last time I even thought about cosplaying was at Dragon Con back in 2012, and it ended up being a pathetic bit of red marker, a greyscale Red Lantern logo, and a plastic Red Lantern Ring I had gotten with issues of Blackest Night from years before.

There was also a disastrous attempt at a duct tape Winter Soldier cosplay based on his appearance from the second Captain America film. I still have the upper arm from that.

Point is that these people are awesome and should be proud of themselves. Take a look at the gallery below to see their hardwork on display.
