Walking Through Ash Vs The Evil Dead Cabin and Eating Nutella: The Petco Park Interactive Zone at SDCC
Jeremy Konrad writes,
On the ground today here at SDCC, there are many choices for offsite fun and you have to choose how to spend your time wisely. Today I spent some time at the Interactive Zone at Petco park, and let me tell you, there were a lot of options.
First thing you notice when you are walking in is the Ferris wheel, which being deathly scared of heights I did not partake in. Booths ranging in interest including a Yo Kai Watch booth, a Pie-In-The-Face booth, a Snickers/Team Conan booth where you could get drawn into a comic, and a Sony/Ghostbusters booth where you could go hands on with the new video game and see the Ecto-1 from the new film.
There were two main draws for myself though. One was a casual stroll through the cabin from Ash Vs The Evil Dead, and it was great campy fun, featuring bugs crawling around, severed heads on counters, pots that spring to life. It really was cool to see that it was all in good campy fun, just like it should be. And at the end we got obnoxiously giant foam chainsaws and beer coozies. Groovy.
Last but not least: food trucks. With themes from all over, including a Hello Kitty treat truck, the decision was a mighty one, but I ended up with a grilled cheese sandwich called The Bossman with turkey, bacon, avocado, and pepper jack cheese from a truck called The Big Cheese. Along with that, my accomplice got some awesome looking tacos and dessert from a truck called Salt+Lime. What was dessert you ask? Why, Nutella Chimichangas, that's what. They are my new favorite thing. Even Deadpool would be jealous.
All in all, if you are in town for the con, it is worth a look to swing by. The lines were not super long, and the experience was a fun one. I will see you in line for more Nutella Chimichangas.
