Welcome Back Resurrected At Boom As An Ongoing Series
Writer Christopher Sebela, who's in the last week of living at the terrifying Clown Motel in the middle of the Nevada desert for a month, has been constantly Tweeting about his ordeal but late yesterday he had some good news to share: His Boom mini-series Welcome Back was extended by the publisher past its four-issue limited run to an "open-ended" ongoing.
I understand that comes to mean that as long as people keep buying this series about reincarnated assassins, they'll keep making them.
Our own Hannah Means-Shannon called it when she said it was "a series to watch out for," and I took notice when the first printing of the first issue sold out. I wouldn't worry, either, that incoming artist Claire Roe, who drew a few pages in issue #2 alongside Jonathan Brandon Sawyer, is the sole illustrator on #3 because her art is just as exciting.
If you missed the boat, don't fret—here's what I hear BOOM! is going to do about it: Welcome Back #3 FOC's on Monday the 26th, and for every 2 copies that retailers increase their order for #3 at FOC, BOOM! will send them 1 copy of Welcome Back #1 2nd printing for free. When word gets out this is now an ongoing series, you can bet there will folks looking to grab a copy of #1.
Now if only Sebela can survive his last few days in the Clown Motel…
