Will The Cover to Batman #93 Cause a Fuss Tomorrow?

In the last week, I have received a number of notes from people worried, concerned, annoyed, or curious about the upcoming cover to Batman #93, especially not that it has received its full livery. Featuring the Joker, with a half-Batman mask, sitting in the cinema, bloodied, holding a gun in his lap. With the phrase 'Nothing quite like a knight at the theater'.

For some, it seems to have come too close to the mass shooting in a cinema in Aurora, Colorado, during a midnight screening of the film The Dark Knight Rises on July 20th, 2012. According to federal officials, the killer had dyed his hair red and called himself "The Joker", although authorities later declined to confirm this. New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly stated "It clearly looks like a deranged individual. He has his hair painted red. He said he was the Joker, obviously the enemy of Batman" however Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates would not confirm that information, and when asked whether the killer had makeup to look like the Joker, Oates said: "That to my knowledge is not true." Nevertheless, the association stuck in the public eye, and for some, this cover reminds them of nothing else. We'll see what the reaction is on publication of Batman #93 tomorrow or on Wednesday, if any.
