Anthem Lead Producer Says There's Still No Loot Boxes in the Game
If you're somehow one of the people hoping for loot boxes to appear in Anthem, you're fresh out of luck, they're still not coming to the game. In what is a Twitter conversation kinda worth checking out, BioWare Lead Producer Michael Gamble got into an argument with a fan who claimed after the game was released, it would end up getting essentially the same treatment as other Electronic Arts titles with tons of microtransactions and loot boxes. To which Gamble said probably one of the best things he could have about the entire ordeal, saying they have "no purpose".
Just for clarification's sake, few have seen a full build of the game, so to say microtransactions and other DLC components won't be a part of the game is something no one can really do at the moment. Since Anthem is due out on February 22nd, we're probably going to see details of the game trickle out over the next few weeks and we'll have a pretty good idea of whether or not the game is free of pay-per items, or if EA decided to keep that aspect as quiet as possible after a few of their other games over the past calendar year got grilled for their usage.
