Awesome Games Done Quick 2020 Kicks Off Sunday
This Sunday, January 5th, the folks over at Games Done Quick will be kicking off Awesome Games Done Quick 2020 live from Orlando. If you're not familiar with this event, this is an eight-day marathon with gamers from across the globe pop in to play some of the most famous video games as quickly as possible. It is a speedrunner's delight. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the series, which is saying something when it comes to retro gaming events. This year for AGDQ, the company will be raising charity funds through Twitch and other donation resources for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. The event has raised over$22 million for various charities over the years and, as always, is looking to break records from 2019, which at least year's event they raised $2.39m.
If you wish to see Awesome Games Done Quick 2020 in person, it is being held at the DoubleTree Hilton at the Entrance to Universal Orlando. For those of you not able to attend, it will be broadcast live on Twitch. The event begins on Sunday, January 5th at 11:30am ET and will end on Sunday, January 12th at a time that will depend on the last events. Here's the complete schedule of the over 130 games that will be played this time around. If you'd like to get yourself psyched up for it, below we have the beginning of the Classic Games Done Quick event that took place in December. That one was done completely online as a bit of a setup to the live event.
