"Black Desert" For PS4 Is Receiving A Second Major Update

This morning, Pearl Abyss announced that they would be sending out the second major update to the PS4 version of Black Desert. We have the full details for you here, as well as three new trailers showing off the new additions to the game. The short version is that a new Awakening feature is being added for characters above Level 56. The Lahn and the Ninja classes are being added to this version of the game. A new desert kingdom called Valencia will be thrown into the land. And there will be tons of new items, gear, and enhancements for you to delve into. Awakening is a feature that permanently boosts a character's combat prowess and unlocks new skills and weapons for use on the battlefield. All ten character classes have been imbued with the ability to be Awakened, allowing adventurers to realize their true power with unique play styles. 

To Awaken a character, adventurers must first reach Level 56 and accept a unique quest provided by their Black Spirit. Once completed, they will receive a mythical weapon native to their character's history that will deliver incredible damage to enemies. Two new fan-favorite character classes, Lahn and Ninja, bring a high-level of agility and precision to Black Desert, as seen in their reveal trailer. Each character is built with different skills and abilities to master on the battlefield:

• Lahn: Lahn is extremely agile, with the unprecedented ability to leap and glide through the air over long distances. Combined with the flexibility of her Crescent Pendulum, whether she's facing enemies head on or raining death from above, she is truly a force to be reckoned with.
• Ninja: Ninja is a high-skill fighter that excels in agility, using dashes, aerial skills and teleportation to rapidly close the distance to enemies. With the ability to conceal his presence, the Ninja can lie in wait before delivering precise, deadly strikes against his opponent. Armed with stun and debuff techniques, the Ninja can easily gain the upper hand in combat.

The desert kingdom of Valencia brings withering sandstorms and new enemy types for experienced adventurers to conquer – witness what's to come in today's region trailer. Beware of the new world boss, Kutum, who emerges from the shifting sands to hunt with lethal precision. To assist in defeating Kutum, Absolute Skills have been added to all classes, enabling devastating and powerful attacks. 

Valencia's violent past also introduces new gameplay elements. Adventurers who kill another player within the region will receive a villain mark regardless of their current Karma, and will be treated as a hostile by other players. Once killed, murderers will be sent to Pila Ku Prison to serve out their time and gain de-buffs. Chances of escape are slim, but a secret route out of prison may exist…
