Borderlands Voice Actor Not Returning Due To Pay Issues
With all the news of Borderlands 3 on the way, some have been wondering if the original voice cast is returning. And sadly, there's one who won't for a very good reason. A fan hit up David Eddings, the voice of Claptrap, on Twitter this week to ask the basic question of if he was returning to go the voice. The answer we got was both one of disappointment wrapped in a very good reason.
Whatever your views may be on voice actors in video games and how much they deserve to be paid, it's still an acting job and if you know what you're worth, you ask for it. How fans will react to knowing the company wasn't willing to pay for him is another issue altogether, but they've already decided to move on. According to IMDb, Jim Foronda will be replacing Eddings in the role. He's no stranger to Borderlands as he voiced other characters in the series, and also voiced Claptrap in Borderlands 2 VR. Though we are curious how much he's being paid for this gig.
