Brie Larson Says She's Like to Play Samus in a Metroid Movie

Some fun news that will get a lot of people talking but might not happen is a surprise message from Brie Larson about Metroid.

This week during Halloween, Larson posted on her social media that she was dressed up as Zero Suit Samus from the Metroid series. Looking pretty authentic to boot, and getting tons of love for the costume online. When one fan threw in a comment about how it would be the closest we'd ever come to seeing a Metroid move, Larson quickly replied and said "I hope not. I want to make that movie."

Obviously, this is just social media banter, but it is super cool to know that Captain Marvel herself would like to get in on the video game action and make a full-length feature film based around the character.

The first couple games in the series have a coherent enough storyline that they could easily be adapted into a couple of films. Whether or not a studio or Nintendo would ever get that far is another story.

People have been wanting to make a Zelda film or TV series for years and the closest we've come is manga books and an animated series. The closest Metroid has ever come is having Netflix's Castlevania producer Adi Shankar say he's like to make a darker animated series for it.

Fingers crossed that one day it happens, but right now, we're still waiting on news for Metroid Prime 4 from Nintendo, who hasn't spoken about the game for longer than a couple sentences in over a year.
