Feeling the Weight of the World in Dark Devotion

Sometimes, when you're a media person covering events like PAX East, your appointments fly by fast and you get some time to check out other cool stuff along the way to getting to other appointments. Such is the case with Dark Devotion, as I briefly tried it out on Friday morning. The game itself is an exploring platformer that will have you walking down some of the darkest hallways you've ever ventured into. This isn't Diablo level of horrifying and creepy, but it will certainly unnerve you for a game of this design and format. The game itself looks like the way Batman: The Animated Series was created as if they designed this game on a black surface and then just drew what they needed on top of it.

Going through the dungeons was a pain as we discovered the enemies basically have zero quarter and little room for pattern guessing. You have to figure out the best window to strike them down and get the hell away from them before you meet the end yourself. We didn't get any info from people as to when it would be released, so for now, we're basically just waiting for an update around PAX West, probably.
