Galatasaray Esports Banned From Event After Failure To Pay Their Staff
An interesting development in League Of Legends as Riot Games has banned Galatasaray Esports from an upcoming event. The news comes from Dot Esports, who is reporting the Turkish team failed to pay out their staff after the 2019 Summer Split took place earlier this year. As a result, Riot Games banned the team from competing in the 2020 TCL Winter Split.
In order to maintain the professional standards of the Vodafone FreeZone Championship, Galatasaray Espor's right to participate in the league was suspended during the 2020 Winter Season. VFŞL will be composed of 9 teams in 2020 Winter Season. With the suspension of Galatasaray Espor's right to participate in the league, the right to unilaterally terminate all players and coach contracts it has acquired for the 2020 season has emerged.
Galatasaray Espor's right to participate in the Vodafone FreeZone Championship League in the Summer of 2020 will be re-evaluated according to the steps to be taken in line with our expectations. We will share the details with you again on this medium.
We'll see if the team can get themselves back in order after this ban and pay out the people who need to be compensated. If not, it's entirely possible they may not end up playing any more tournaments.
