The Latest 'Battleborn' DLC Has Some Hidden 'Borderlands' Easter Eggs

Battleborn fans got some cryptic easter eggs in their most recent DLC that point toward another Gearbox Software title on the horizon: Borderlands 3. People in the Battleborn forums, as well as the Battleborn subreddit discovered several signals being transmitted from portals that would eventually spawn in the recent DLC ops. When you take all of the messages and put them together, you get this tidbit that someone put together online.

"Visit Prometea. Children of the Vault. We are not on Pandora anymore. Tannis is not what she seems. Do not open the Vaults." When that decoded message started making the rounds, it prompted Battleborn's Creative Director, Randy Varnell, to confirm their findings online. The text makes reference to places like Promethea, which is a planet in the Borderlands universe, and Tannis, which is the surname of non-playable character Patricia Tannis. All of this comes in the wake of the tech demo for Borderlands 3, which was shown off at GDC this week.

It's a really cool way to get fans of one franchise interested in another and give fans of the latter something to gnaw on across dozens of forums. Now if they'd just get around to giving us a target date at E3, we'll be on course for a badass time, hopefully by the holidays.
