Mystery Science Theater 3000 In Legos Look Glorious And Needs To Happen

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think the day would come I'd be seeing a complete toy set for one of my all time favorite television shows. But if the Lego Ideas program really does work the way it's supposed to, we may just be getting a set for the show Mystery Science Theater 3000.

This fan-submitted set was submitted back in May of 2016, complete with all four of the bots, Joel and Mike (for your preferred fandom pleasure), both of the mad scientists and their lackeys, and a complete interior of the Satellite Of Love for you to wander down before sitting in the theater. There aren't any scenes designed to be on the movie screen, but let's be honest, that won't stop creative Lego designers to make something happen with a smartphone.

For those unfamiliar with how Lego ideas works, first a creator must come up with the idea on their own. They submit it to the website for people to look over and gain support, which requires at least 10,000 people to back it. Then it's up to the minds at Lego to approve it or reject it. If they approve, they'll contact the licensing and tweak the design. In many cases, they'll redesign characters using different or newly designed pieces specifically for that set, and then release it to the public. So while some of you may be gawking at the design of Crooooow and Tom Servo, there's a good chance they may make them better if approved.

The pitch for the set is great as the creator wants to see the company make it before the revival comes to Netflix this year, you can click here to read more and support the set. The program has already had several successful bids on pop-culture sets like Doctor Who, The Big Bang TheoryAdventure Time, and The Beatles film Yellow Submarine. Whatever the case may be, this is probably the only time (beyond the individual bots Shout! Factory released with some DVD sets a few years ago) that we may get a complete MST3K toy.
