New 'Quake Champions' Character Trailer Brings Back An Old Favorite With Ranger

As someone who played the original Quake, I can tell this was created to appeal directly to us old-school fighters, and it may actually do the trick. Quake Champions will be bringing back Ranger, the foul-mouthed marine with the Dire Orb who doesn't really care who you are, you will die. The gameplay footage will actually take you back a few notches in time to the days of calling him "QuakeGuy" as he looks and plays like the original. His passive ability called "Son Of A Gun" reduces the amount of self-damage he takes by 25%, so the guy can jump with less penalty, and of course the Orb which will teleport you to wherever you fire it. Enjoy reliving the past for a brief moment as you now kill everything you see in the present.
