PlayStation Plus Subs Can Now Get A Free Copy Of 'Star Wars: Battlefront'
Sony's got an interesting proposition for first time PlayStation Plus buyers. If you've never purchased a PSP account, doing so this month will get you a free copy of Star Wars: Battlefront Ultimate Edition.
To be clear, you can't have already subscribed, extend your subscription, or cancel and resubscribe. You have to be a first-time purchaser of PSP in order to get the game, and it must be for 12 months. Star Wars: Battlefront Ultimate Edition is the complete game with all four expansions: Outer Rim, Bespin, Death Star, and Rogue One: Scarif. Once you purchase the subscription, a download code will be sent to your account withing five to ten business days. The promotion will end on June 30.
Now I'm sure there are a lot of people who will charge in here and argue "well, you're not really getting it for free, you have to buy an account." And to those people, I ask: Must you be a jerk about everything? A subscription to PSP is like Xbox Live Gold, where a membership opens up a lot of stuff you just can't do for free on their service. So by definition, yes, this is a free game since the account pays for other stuff like online multiplayer and cloud services.
