Prudes Or Too Short To Plan? New 'South Park' Game Not Planned For Switch
Some interesting news dropped on IGN today confirming what we kinda already suspected from the game's advertisements. There will not be a copy of the new South Park game made for Nintendo Switch, or at least there are no plans for one.
While The Fractured But Whole keeps getting pushed back to an unknown release date, fans of the series started bringing up the fact that the game is only being produced for PS4, Xbox One and PC, with no promotion for the Switch in sight. South Park's own Twitter account posted a GIF about Cartman in a blizzard saying he was coming for Nin-ten-do, which led to speculation of an announcement, but it actually just forced Comedy Central to come out and tell IGN that there are no plans for the new game to come out on the Switch. UbiSoft didn't comment on the matter.
So it does make you wonder at this point… Is the game not coming to the Switch because UbiSoft wasn't working with Nintendo's new hardware and they currently only have plans for traditional console releases? Or is it more about the subject matter of the game, since South Park's creators pulled zero punches with The Stick Of Truth and made jokes that they didn't even try on Comedy Central. The first game was left off of Wii and Wii U consoles, so it falls in line with the idea that South Park and Nintendo either don't like playing ball together or they just weren't interested in publishing a title for their console. But for most fans, it probably doesn't affect their purchase choice since plans for the game were happening long before the Switch was ever announced.
