The Tomb Raider franchise owes a fair bit to Rhianna Pratchett. The series became relevant in a mainstream way again with 2013's Tomb Raider, which Pratchett wrote. She continued that good work by taking on Rise of the Tomb Raider too, which really helped kick the franchise into gear.
However, her time with Lara Croft has come to an end. Taking to Twitter to announce her departure, Pratchett thanked Crystal Dynamics for her time with the character, before adding that she has now moving on to new ventures. She said:
I do wonder how much of the third game in the rebooted franchise had been written, and how extensive Pratchett's hand in that would have been. I'd have to guess that the broad strokes of the story are probably in place, but that is pure speculation on my part.
