SOMA Gets A New "Safe Mode" Added To The PS4 Version

SOMA is probably one of the best indie games we've played in the past decade and a fine achievement in storytelling from Frictional Games in an era where everyone kinda sees what's coming in video games. And while we love the way that the game plays out with you doing a bit of puzzle solving while also avoiding the monsters created in the game, there's apparently a large group of players who hate the dealing with the monsters. So the developers added what they call a "Safe Mode" which allows you to play through the story without the threat of dealing with them crawling around to stop you. The addition has been on the Xbox One and PC versions for a while, but this week the company announced it was added to the PS4 edition.

Now if this is truly how you wish to play the game, we can't stop you. But having tried it out ourselves a while ago on Xbox, we have to agree that there's just something missing without having the looming threat of failure.
