"Star Wars: Legion" Sends Out the Clones in the BARC Speeder Set
Fantasy Flight Games has been rolling out plenty of teases for their new Clone Wars era expansions for Star Wars: Legion, with a core set set to drop in a few weeks, and the first few expansions focusing on Clone and Battle Droid trooper units. The BARC Speeder will also be out soon, with individual models available for purchase.
Versatile and swift, BARC speeders are designed to assist clone troopers as they scout the field, protect key targets, and launch rapid surprise attacks. These durable speeder bikes are armed with heavy blasters and fitted with powerful engines, making them useful in nearly any theater of ground war across the galaxy.
It's kind of hard to get a clear look at the stat card, but the BARC Speeder has Arsenal 2, which allows it to fire more of its weapon load-out in combat; Cover 1 minimizes incoming damage, and Speeder 1 means the BARC has to take a compulsory move. It also gets one of each die in combat, which will make the unit pretty effective in combat.
My favorite bit about this model, though, is that the side-car is completely optional. You can field the BARC without the sidecar, or add it on for a stat increase.
That also leaves that nifty little side-car for some customizing projects if you decide not to use it, too!
Within the BARC Speeder Unit Expansion, you'll find one unpainted, finely sculpted BARC speeder miniature identical to the miniature included in the Star Wars: Legion Clone Wars Core Set. If you choose, this miniature can include a sidecar featuring a built-in M-45 Ion Blaster or a Mark II Medium Blaster. Similarly, a Phase I Clone Trooper can fire an RPS-6 rocket launcher from the sidecar. This expansion also includes a unit card and an assortment of six upgrade cards inviting you to outfit your speeder to fit your personal battle plan.
The BARC Speeder Unit Expansion for Star Wars: Legion will be available in the third quarter of 2019 from Fantasy Flight Games, but I bet you can pre-order it now from your favorite game shop!
