The Steam Awards Winners are Announced as Cuphead, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Feature
Valve has announced the winners of its community voted awards and it features a lot of 2017's biggest games, but also a lot of good old ones.
A little while ago we reported on the rather out there awards Valve were going to be giving away for its Steam Awards, and now that votes have been counted and winner's chosen. The awards are much more abstract, based on 'feelings' more than genre denominations with the added wrinkle that it can include older titles. Cuphead came out with the most wins with two, taking both Best Music and Even Better Than I Expected. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds took home the Mom's Spaghetti award, which focused on games full of tension, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt took Choices Matter.

While a little more ambiguous than our own awards, I actually enjoy Valve's contribution to the end of year mix. Remembering older titles not just from that year, as well as just a break from the norm of categories, gives us something else to contemplate.
