Today is Charmander Community Day Classic in Pokémon GO, giving the Kanto Starter its third solo Community Day, this time with double moves.

If you have yet to obtain a Shiny Charizard in Pokémon GO, the original Fire-type Starter from Kanto is in the wild with a highly boosted Shiny rate today. Community Day Classic brings Charmander back for its third solo Community Day, and this time, it gets both of its special moves when evolved to Charizard: the Dragon-type Fast Attack Dragon Breath and the original Fire-type Charged Attack Blast Burn.

Here are the full details for the Pokémon GO Community Day Classic event for today, September 2nd, 2023, which will feature Charmander:

• Date and time: Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time
• Featured Pokémon: Charmander is getting yet another Community Day as it completes the Kanto Starter cycle of Community Day Classics. Charmander will of course be in the wild with an increased Shiny rate, as with all focus Pokémon for Community Day events. Charizard will get not just one but both of its previous Community Day moves, this time all in one shot. Let's take a look at the details.
  • Evolve Charmeleon (Charmander's Evolution) during the event or up to two hours afterward to get Charizard that knows the Fast Attack Dragon Breath and the Charged Attack Blast Burn.
    • Dragon Breath:
      • Trainer Battles: 4 power
      • Gym and raids: 6 power
    • Blast Burn:
      • Trainer Battles: 110 power
      • Gym and raids: 110 power
• Community Day Special Research Storyline: This $1 Timed Research will be available in the shop. Here is what Niantic has to say about this questline:
  • "For US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you'll be able to access the Charmander Community Day Classic–exclusive Special Research story. Stay tuned for when tickets for the Special Research story go live. Don't forget: you're now able to purchase and gift tickets to any of your friends whom you've achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher. To gift a ticket, tap the Special Research ticket in the in-game shop, then tap the Gift button instead of the Buy button.
