Twitch Launches a Twitch Sings Competition With Prizes On The Line
Twitch announced today that they will be holding a singing competition with some prizes on the line with Twitch Sings: Stream Star. The competition, which you can sign up for right now within the game, will have players showing how well they can perform in the game's live karaoke, where Twitch will then pick finalists to head to TwitchCon Europe in April for a shot at a $20,000 prize. Right now it doesn't seem like there's any restrictions for regular streamsers or partnered people, so it's all up for grabs with whoever can sing and show off the best doing so. Here's some added details on the competition as you can register here.
Stream Star will elevate and reward streamers while allowing viewers to actively participate and shape the experience. To submit a performance, streamers will need to sing a song on Twitch Sings, then submit a Video on Demand (VOD) of their best performance. When the submission period closes, Twitch will choose the top eight performers to compete in a head-to-head competition where viewers vote to narrow down the pool to four finalists. The final four streamers will be flown to TwitchCon Europe in Berlin to perform in the Finals, which will be hosted live on the Glitch Stage where the community will help decide who walks away with $20,000 and an in-game Avatar accessory of their own design.
