Splatoon 2 Archives
Like it's predecessor, Splatoon 2 is a third-person shooter developed and published by Nintendo. Unlike the original Splatoon, however, the sequel was developed exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. The game released worldwide on July 21, 2017 and includes a single-player story campaign mode, the Octo Expansion (which includes another single player mode, special pieces of octopus-themed gear, and playable Octolings), and an online multiplayer mode.
Players control anthropomorphic squid, or octopuses, who use colored ink to cover the land, attack opponents, and clear through special goals. They can morph between their humanoid form and squid or octopus form. As humanoids, they can fire ink with their weapons, while they can swim through their ink and replenish their ink supply while in their squid or octopus form.
By December 2018, Splatoon 2 had sold over eight million copies worldwide, which means it sold better than its predecessor and is one of the best-selling Switch games ever.
