Hitman Release Date(s) And Content Outlined In Infographic
I saw Hitman at EGX and was pretty impressed with what I saw. It looked like Absolution on new hardware, which is basically everything I want out of Io Interactive's new game.
It recently got pushed back into March 2016, but now we have a specific date. We will be assassinating across the globe on March 11th.
Now, one of the things that everyone has been a little confused about since the game was announced is the claim that it will be adding extra parts to the title after launch. It made some people nervous, but we now have an idea of how it works, and it seems interesting once you parse the information.
Essentially, the main game will launch with six campaign missions, three 'sandbox locations' and contracts mode for over 800 targets. Then, each month up until June, new content will be added, including a new sandbox location each month.
There is also a strange way to buy the game too. You can buy 'the intro pack' for a $34.99, to be given the base experience of the game. You can then buy the rest of the releases if you want at a later date. Or, you can just buy it like all for a normalized price of $59.99.
Take a look at this inforgraphic for further breakdown.
This is a really unusual release pattern, but it will be interesting to see play out. In theory, this actually gives you a choice with how much of the game you want to buy and when. It also means that there will be a slow drip of content too each month to keep you coming back. It's a bit confusing, but there is more wiggle room. I'll be fascinated to see how this works out.
