Mass Effect: Andromeda's Male And Female Protagonists Are Siblings That Both Exist In The Universe
The debate between who you should play as in the original Mass Effect trilogy, FemShep and MaleShep has waged on for quite some time. It was an important decision, as it helped mold the character you crafted from the get go, which was one of the real joys of the franchise.
In Mass Effect: Andromeda, it seems there will at least be a continuation of the gender you don't choose though. It was confirmed on PlayStation Access that the two are brother and sister and both exist in the story, regardless of who you choose. Creative lead on the game Mac Walters said:
They both exist in the game world at the same time. So if you're playing as the sister, the female Ryder, your brother is somewhere in the universe.
That isn't the only familial tie either. Remember this guy from the original Andromeda trailer?
Well, Walters also said:
Another fun little tidbit is, the character we saw two E3s ago in the N7 armor is actually their father. We've got the full Ryder family now revealed. We'll do names and things in the future.
Seems it will be a whole family affair here. I fully expect this to be a thread running through the game now, which could be really neat. I so can't wait to see more of this one.
