Nintendo Have Announced A Cheap Mini Nintendo Entertainment System For This Year [Correction]
With the release of Pokemon Go has shown that Nintendo are really trying to utilise the casual market in important ways that could see the company return to greatness.
And they've just announced something else that leads me to believe they are headed further down that path. Nintendo have revealed a mini-NES that will be out November 11th for $60. The console will have a HDMI port and come with 30 games installed on it. To make things even better, you'll also be able to play Virtual Console games on it that you buy on the Wii and Wii U.*
Here are the games that will come with it.
Balloon Fight
BUBBLE BOBBLE
Castlevania™
Castlevania II: Simon's Quest™
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Jr.
DOUBLE DRAGON II: THE REVENGE
Dr. Mario
Excitebike
FINAL FANTASY®
Galaga™
GHOSTS'N GOBLINS™
GRADIUS™
Ice Climber
Kid Icarus
Kirby's Adventure
Mario Bros.
MEGA MAN™ 2
Metroid
NINJA GAIDEN®
PAC-MAN™
Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream
StarTropics
SUPER C™
Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros. 2
Super Mario Bros. 3
Tecmo Bowl™
The Legend of Zelda
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
*[Correction] Got the wrong end of the stick of this one. You can use the NES Classic Controller to play Virtual Console NES games on a Wii U or Wii. Apologies about that.
