Rainbow Six: Siege Beta Progress Will Not Carry Over Into Launch

Betas are mostly good things. They let a lot of players try the game for quite a while before purchase, and help improve the quality of the game. One minor annoyance they can bring up though is lost progress. You might play for hours and unlock certain things, before you lose it all just before launch.

Now we know, even though it has a beta that ends two days before the game is out, that Rainbow Six: Siege will not allow you to do so either. In a statement Ubisoft said:

Your progression, inventory and Ranked gameplay during the Open Beta will not carry over into the final game.

I mean, honestly, that is probably for the best. If there are any changes or tweaks to the game in the beta phase, that means it would differ a little from the actual game. It does mean however, I may well not jump into the beta. Having progress reset, especially two days out from launch, sucks.
