Rainbow Six Siege Comes With Ten Maps At Launch
Rainbow Six Siege will live or die on the quality of its multplayer. The depth of the experience and how replayable it is will likely dictate how long the game stays in the gamer consciousness.
Thankfully, we now have an idea of the scale of the experience. Speaking to PC Gamer, Level designer Benoit Deschamps revealed that after originally having 50 ideas for levels, the development team eventually cut it down to 10. He said:
As for now yes, there are ten maps, but we have more planned because we're already working on more content for players after launch.
While some might claim it is a little low, ten maps sounds fine to me. This is a game about strategy and precision, so knowing the layout before you go in will add to the tactical component of the shooter. Having more then 10… that gets harder to expect from you and your teammates.
