The Witcher Franchise Might Well Be Done As CD Projekt RED Cast Doubt On Franchise's Future
I hope you are ready for Blood and Wine DLC for The Witcher 3, which is due out by month's end. That's because it would well be the last Witcher content we ever get.
Speaking to Eurogamer, CD Projekt Red co-founder Marcin Iwinski cast some doubt on the future of the franchise. He said:
We honestly don't know. We don't have anything planned as of now to be honest on the next Witcher.
As we said before, never say never [but] right now it's really Blood and Wine. This is the end. Blood and Wine is [the] closing and there won't be any Witcher any time soon – if there ever will be one. And I would really like to see how people feel about it, if they will enjoy it.
It's not definitive in anyway, and Cyberpunk 2077 is probably all that is on their mind right now, but it's hardly a ringing endorsement for new content. All though, I'm sure many people would probably 'feel' pretty positive about more.
