50 Years Of Star Trek Documentary To Air On History Channel
On August 14th, the History Channel will be airing a two-hour documentary, 50 Years of Star Trek. It includes interviews with cast and creators including one of the final full length interviews of Lenoard Nimoy. The late actor shares memories and stories from the five decades he was associated with Mr. Spock and the U.S.S. Enterprise.
Directed by Ian Roumain, 50 Years of Star Trek looks at all eras of the franchise and includes interviews with Whoopi Goldberg (Guinan), Jonathan Frakes (Riker), Nichelle Nichols (Uhura), J.J. Abrams, Bryan Fuller, and Simon Pegg as they reflect on their contribution to the franchise and reveal their favorite episodes and iconic moments from the past 50 years.
The documentary also highlights the unique fan culture the series has created. Notable Trekkies Michael McKean, Olivia Munn, Bruce Campbell and others share their memories about the series and explore how it has impacted American history and culture.
50 Years of Star Trek airs Sunday, August 14 at 8pm ET/PT on the History Channel.
