Next 2 Avengers Films Will Pay off "Every Little Thread and Every Little Tease"

In May, Marvel Studios will release Avengers: Infinity War, the culmination of their 10-year-long Marvel Cinematic Universe project. This is what everything has been building up to for a decade. On the home release of Thor: Ragnarok in a segment called Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years – The Evolution of Heroes (via Screen Rant), Marvel megaboss Kevin Feige says that these next two Avengers movies tie everything together.

"Every story that Marvel has told since Iron Man 1 finds a narrative thread in these next two Avengers movies. It is a culmination of all that storytelling."

These next two movies also take all of the lost threads that have been hanging around for the last 10 years, the ones fans have been meticulously cataloging, and tie them all up.

"With Infinity War, we're paying off every little thread and every little tease that we've had in what will be 18 films prior to Infinity War. There's never been anything like this. Being able to, film after film, tease at a larger story. Really building these stories up into a giant conclusion. While at the same time introducing an entirely new direction for the future."

One has to wonder if Marvel is really going to pull that off. There are a ton of threads from movies like The Incredible Hulk that no one ever talks about (justice for Betty Ross), so are we going to address those? In a few months we'll see if Marvel can stick the landing.

Summary: As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.

Avengers: Infinity War, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, stars Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Chadwick Boseman, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Scarlett Johansson, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Bradley Cooper, Sean Gunn, and Anthony Mackie. It will be released on May 4th.
