Colin Farrell Talks the Live-Action Dumbo Remake Plus a New Image
There are three Disney live-action remakes coming out this year and people are wondering what we can expect from them. Are these shot for shot remakes? How different are they going to be? No one is really sure what to expect from this movie or how weird it is going to get with director Tim Burton behind the camera. USA Today got the chance to speak to Colin Farrell and he spoke about how Dumbo helps all of the characters see a better world.
The little circus elephant awakens Holt "as a man who can trust in sweetness and who doesn't just see the world through the lens of the violence and the inhumanity that he observed while he was away at the war," Farrell says. "That's a huge thing."
We also have a new image.
As with the other remakes, it's still a little too early to make a judgment one way or another. Burton is an interesting choice for this movie and we can hope that gamble pays off for Disney.
Summary: Circus owner Max Medici enlists former star Holt Farrier and his children Milly and Joe to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus. But when they discover that Dumbo can fly, the circus makes an incredible comeback, attracting persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere, who recruits the peculiar pachyderm for his newest, larger-than-life entertainment venture, Dreamland. Dumbo soars to new heights alongside a charming and spectacular aerial artist, Colette Marchant, until Holt learns that beneath its shiny veneer, Dreamland is full of dark secrets.
Dumbo, directed by Tim Burton, stars Colin Farrell, Nico Parker, Finley Hobbins, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito and Eva Green. It will be released on March 29th, 2019.
