Could Jason Statham Be Joining The Marvel Universe?

jason stathamThe latest rumor involving the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes from Latino Review. The report says that Transporter and Furious 7 actor Jason Statham is in talks to play Bullseye in season 2 of Daredevil on Netflix. The action star was rumored to be part of Fox's last attempt to reboot the franchise just prior to it reverting back to Marvel. Statham was spotted visiting with Marvel while taking a break from doing promotions for the film Spy.

Statham could pull off the physicality of the role no problem and even has the look. But I question whether Daredevil, though more successful than they had anticipated, would have the budget for a headlining star. And wouldn't Marvel want to use the draw of his name for a feature film instead? As good as Daredevil is, the actors involved are TV stars… as are the ones involved with A.K.A. Jessica Jones.

If this rumor turns out to be true… Marvel must be thinking very highly of the Netflix series.

The report also says the production on season two will begin in late June or early July and that other villains featured are Mr. Fear and Mysterio and the introduction of Elektra which means more of the Hand.
