'The Dark Tower' Gets A New Poster And Two Teasers
The Dark Tower is a movie that seems to be sneaking up on us. For a studio that loves to do so much marketing they spoil half the movie they have been oddly quiet about this one. There have been a few trailers, a few posters, a few TV spots, but nothing to the level that would say Sony has faith in the production. Maybe the marketing will kick into overdrive once Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters this weekend. For now we don't have much to go on.
Flickering Myth got their hands on a new poster featuring Roland (Idris Elba) and The Man in Black (Matthew McConaughey) with the tower looming in the distance. This movie has some pretty great casting if nothing else.
The official twitter account also has two seven second "teasers" for Roland and the Man in Black. They don't tell us much but hearing someone chant "all hail the crimson king" is pretty creepy.
We'll be keeping an eye on this one as the month continues and we can hope that Stephen King fans get the adaptation that they want.
The Gunslinger, Roland Deschain, roams an Old West-like landscape where "the world has moved on" in pursuit of the man in black. Also searching for the fabled Dark Tower, in the hopes that reaching it will preserve his dying world.
The Dark Tower, directed by Nikolaj Arcel, stars Idris Elba, Katheryn Winnick, Matthew McConaughey, Jackie Earl Haley, and Tom Taylor. It will be released on August 4, 2017.
