David Leitch Talks Domino's Powers In 'Deadpool 2'

We're getting all sorts of new information about Deadpool 2 now that the movie has started filming. We got our first look at Domino played by Zazie Beetz but now we got some new information about her mutant powers. Director David Leitch is currently doing press for Atomic Blonde but in an interview with Cinema Blend Leitch talked about how they are going to use Domino's unique powers of manipulating probability in the movie.

We're having fun with her power, because when you really distill it — the laws of probability… So I think there's a lot of ways to go with it, and I think we have some really cool visual ideas of how we can demonstrate that. And then also there's the Deadpool tone of how you can be self-referential to all powers. So it's going to be fun.

Sounds like they are going to have fun with the powers just like everything else in this movie even if the look is different.

Leitch also talked about the casting of Beetz and how he and Ryan Reynolds knew they had their girl when they met her.

Speaking of Zazie [Beetz] in particular, we had of people come in and audition, and there was something about her that was undeniable. Ryan was having a ball with the casting as well, and we looked at each other and we knew that we'd found her — after their camera test it was perfect. There is great chemistry.

Deadpool is a movie dominated by people who seemed born to play their respective roles and there isn't any reason to think this role would be any different. If Reynolds and Leitch believe that Beetz is the right woman to play their version of Domino then she probably is.

Deadpool 2, directed by David Leitch, stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Josh Brolin, Brianna Hildebrand, and Zazie Beetz. It will be released on June 1st, 2018.
