DC Shocker: Warner Bros Casts Teagan Croft As Raven In Titans

In a shocking move defying all conventional casting wisdom, Teagan Croft has been cast in the role of Raven for the live action Titans show debuting alongside DC's new digital streaming service in 2018. The news comes via a report from schedule-obsessed Hollywood gossip rag Deadline. Croft, an unknown Australian actress, would normally have never been considered for the role because she has blonde hair, while the character Raven has either purple or black hair, depending on whether you are basing it on the cartoon or the comics.

The last time a studio made such a bizarre casting call was when they cast Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, despite Eisenberg having hair, and in the face of dozens of fan suggestions of perfectly bald actors. The move baffled fans, who have never been able to picture an actor in the role of a popular comic book character unless the actor looks exactly like that character, down to even the most trivial of details.

At this point, it's unclear how Warner Bros plans to solve this problem in time to film the show for its debut next year. Further, the studio's special effects budget has likely been severely depleted by digitally removing Henry Cavill's mustache from Justice League. We'll keep you posted on this breaking story.
