First Trailer for The LEGO Movie 2 Hits, Aftermath of Taco Tuesday

In a world of bricks and blocks, The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part has a lot to live up to. The first film was such a pleasant surprise from the team of Phil Lord and Chris Miller, utilizing a special brand of humor with one of the most instantly recognizable toys ever.

This morning, the first trailer for the The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part hit, and it's pretty great.  The announcement tweet reads "it's been five years since the horrific events of Taco Tuesday", and the Mad Max of it all is brilliant.

The battle to defeat new enemies and restore harmony to the LEGO universe will take Emmet, Lucy, Batman, and their friends to faraway, unexplored worlds, including a strange galaxy where everything is a musical. It will test their courage, creativity, and Master Building skills and reveal just how special they really are.

Chris Pratt is back as Emmet, Elizabeth Banks as Lucy (aka Wyldstyle), Will Arnett as LEGO Batman, Nick Offerman as Metal Beard, and Alison Brie as Unikitty. They are joined this time by Tiffany Haddish, Stephanie Beatriz, and Arturo Castro as new characters Queen Watevra Wa-Nabi, Sweet Mayhem, and Ice Cream Cone.

The film is directed by Mike Mitchell (Shrek Ever After, TrollsSky High). It is produced by Dan Lin, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Roy Lee the team behind the film franchise since The LEGO Movie debuted in 2014.

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part opens nationwide in 2D and 3D on Friday, February 8th, 2019.
