The Flash Set to Start Production in February
There was yet another big announcement from Warner Bros. and DC Comics today. We have another Supergirl movie on the way, yes, but there was other information hidden in that announcement. According to Deadline, The Flash is set to start production in February. It will be directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, the filmmaking duo who directed Game Night and co-wrote Spider-Man: Homecoming.
For a long time it looked like they were changing direction and going with a Flashpoint movie instead. However, it sounds like that might not be the case anymore. There is very little in the way of definitive information about this project, and it currently doesn't have a release date. Goldstein and Daley are the third directors to take on this project, which, out of all of the DC projects so far, is probably the most troubled.
The Flash will start project a mere month after Birds of Prey. These early projection starts point to late 2019 to early 2020 release dates. Thus far Birds of Prey is the smaller of the two productions and is the one most likely to make an earlier release date. The Untitled Joker movie is still set to start production next month for an October 4th, 2019 release.
The next DC feature is Aquaman, set to drop on December 21st.
