All Rights Reserved.Florence Pugh was a definite standout in Marvel's Black Widow, initiating her character Yelena Belova into the spotlight after the death of Natasha Romanoff. Now, after that post-credit hint at what's to come, the star is discussing the scene and where Yelena might go next.

In Black Widow, the film centers on the women who have been subjected to the trauma of the Red Room, with a great deal of emphasis on Natasha and Yelena in specific. The two form a sister-like relationship as children, but their eventual separation and unfathomable treatment results in a very distant, nonexistent connection after completing the "mission." In the film, we enter knowing Black Widow's fate is dire — and it feels like this was the MCU's opportunity to usher in the next generation through a pseudo-familial connection via Yelena. As shown in the post-credit scene, Yelena is approached by (and confirmed to be working with) Julia Louis Dreyfus' Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine, and that means we can expect plenty more.

Dreyfus' character has already appeared to be wrangling up a few misplaced characters with her recent appearance sending Yelena on a mission to take out Hawkeye (Clint Barton, played by Jeremy Renner.) This suggests that Pugh will also appear in the Disney+ series Hawkeye, and the actor is intrigued to see where her role will take her after setting up Yelena with Contessa. Speaking to Variety, Pugh discussed the post-credit inclusion, noting, "She's going to continue what she's good at, and despite her sister not being there, she's back working. If you look at her costume, and you look at the way that she's dressed herself, it shows someone that's flourishing. So to me, it was just really wonderful to kind of jump ahead and see she has been surviving. But, of course, it sets up a whole different challenge — which is Natasha's fighting partner."

Now that we're seeing Contessa enlist Yelena and U.S. Agent, it looks like they are laying the groundwork for an exciting MCU storyline! What do you think will happen with Yelena next?
