Keanu Reeves Confirms 'John Wick 3: Parabellum' Is the Official Title

The John Wick series sort of came out of nowhere in 2014 and has been kicking butt ever since. The third movie comes out next year, and we only have a bit of casting and not much else when it comes to information. But star Keanu Reeves recently spoke a bit to ComingSoon, including confirming the title to be John Wick 3: Parabellum. If you're wondering what that word means, Reeves was happy to elaborate.

Prepare for war. It's part of that famous sentence, "Si vis pacem, para bellum," which translates as, "If you want peace, prepare for war."

Reeves went on to say that he hopes that the emotional aspect of this movie will hit in a similar way that the first one did.

I hope so. Each film is very different but in the same kind of world and take. I can't speak to your subjective experience, but there's definitely emotion in this piece.

Halle Berry recently joined the cast as well, and Reeves talked about how the character will enhance the story and change Wick.

Yeah, John Wick is fighting for his life and thinks that Halle Berry's character has some information for him. They have a past, and they get involved with The High Table, this kind of overlording entity. (laughs)

The same creative team is working on this movie that has worked on the previous two, so it stands to reason that it's going to be good at the very least. They've set expectations high with this trilogy; now it's time to stick the landing.

John Wick 3: Parabellum, directed by Chad Stahelski, will star Keanu Reeves, Ruby Rose, Ian McShane, Common, Angelica Huston, Asia Kate Dillon, Mark Dacascos, Jason Mantzoukas, and Halle Berry. It will be released on May 17th, 2019.
